Horse riding through rivers in France

Week-long trail exploring the rolling countryside around Montmorillon in western France with its two key rivers; the large but calm Vienne River and the wilder Gartempe River. Ride along ancient paths, through old villages filled with Roman architecture and pass by grand houses and period castles. Visit the town of Montmorillon as well as rural villages and isolated farms, staying in local farmhouses along the way to invoke a deeper understanding of this overlooked region and the people who live here.
The horses on this trail are mostly home-bred ranging from French saddle to Arabs; all are forward going and happy living in their herd outside - they are the pride and joy of their owners! The meandering paths are excellent for trotting and cantering.
