It is essential to wear boots with good grip.
Head torches are very useful if camping.

I have graded the difficulty re the terrain not the horses. There are many fairly strenuous uphill/downhill sections which are done on foot.
Hot weather makes this all the more difficult.

This trip was everything I expected & more. It is fairly hard work but well worth it!
