Kerstin, Jenny and Matti were a great team. They introduced us to aspects of Sami culture and this wonderful area. The campfire cooking was impressive. Most of the food was based on local meat and fish.
Whilst I was there in mid-late August the reindeer had started to move down onto the moors where we were riding, and there were still wildflowers out, and the heath berries were ripening.

These small horses seemed tireless. They were very well cared for and well trained, several of them used for competition. The horse I was given suited me very well, and Kerstin & Matti seemed to have a horse matched to each of our abilities. The tolt was new for me and it was a wonderful way to travel.

It was very clear that this is a wilderness experience.
Everyone who flew to Kiruna had had to stay overnight in Stockholm, so this may need to be added to the itinerary. Coming home the timings made it possible to return in one day.

The long waterproof boots would be desirable rather than essential. Most people had hiking boots and half-chaps, which were OK for the conditions we had, althought we may have been lucky. Some people had wellies which were less successful for whole week.
Promote the extra day's riding.

Several of the riding days were long, but the pace was quite slow, and the horses easy to ride with comfy saddles.
We had fine dry weather, often with a cool breeze.
