The Alentejo area is one of the prettiest parts of Portugal, still unspoilt with magnificent landscapes and picturesque villages. Here we offer a ride which is ideal for enthusiastic dressage riders with horses trained to Grand Prix level and instruction to match, which also offers hacking out in the varied countryside and can cater for beginners too.

Accommodation is in an historic and luxurious pousada with many facilities including tennis courts and swimming pool and a high standard of catering, all in all an ideal location to explore the region from. Your instructor is patient and thorough, a graduate of the Cadre Noir of Saumur and has a wide experience of training with world class riders and judges, currently training with Daniel Pinto going to attending clinics every two months with Kyra Kyrklund. The riding is tailored to individuals and there are no more than 2 riders in any lesson. 
 

Trip length 7 days / 6 nights/ 5 days riding. SAMPLE ITINERARY - ALENTEJO DRESSAGE

There is a choice of Riding Programmes on this ride and the ride can also be booked as full board or half board. Riding days are Monday to Friday inclusive, all programmes offer 5 days of riding.

Programme A
Includes two lessons in the morning and one trail ride in the afternoon.

Programme B
Includes two private lessons - one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Programme C
Includes two lessons in the morning and in the afternoon riders can choose from one of the following activities:
- Working on your seat on the lunge
- Working a horse in hand
- Working a horse on the lunge using the proper equipment according to the age, level of training, difficulties of the horse, etc
- Visit to a stud farm
- Trail ride

Day 1
Arrival to Lisbon and transfer to the pousada.

Day 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6
Each day you will have two lessons with Coralie in the morning. Coralie will work with you to set out goals for the week, it is very much a collaboration and there is much flexibility in what you want to work for and achieve. In the afternoons you will have the chance to explore the surrounding countryside on a trail ride.

Day 7
Departure day.

NOTES - ALENTEJO DRESSAGE

Coralie Baldry

Coralie received her initial dressage training at the famous Cadre Noir of Saumur in France and has since been taught by some of the best riders of the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art. More recently she has received regular coaching from various internationally renowned trainers, riders and judges such as Daniel Pinto and Kyra Kyrklund.

Coralie has achieved excellent results in dressage, both at home and abroad. As a trainer and rider she is both competent and tireless, besides which she excels in her presentation of young stallions owned by some of the foremost breeders in Portugal.

As an equestrian perfectionist, she provides her pupils with serious teaching, encouraging them firmly but amicably, irrespective of his or her dressage experience.

Coralie can be flexible with arrival days - please enquire if you would like start your holiday on a day other than a Sunday.

The weight limit for this ride is 13 st/187 lb/85 kg, please enquire if you are an experienced rider exceeding this weight.
