This is a point to point  horse riding holiday through the beautiful region of Tuscany in Italy with camping en route. Western saddles are utilized on this holiday which explores the Fiora Valley, Maremma Regional Park and visits Saturnia Thermal Baths  amongst others. Ride with the 'Butteri' (cowboys) through areas untouched by human habitation and visit one of the most beautiful beaches of Tuscany. The camps in the middle of this splendid natural environment are comfortable and it is a real pleasure to be far away from civilisation. SAMPLE ITINERARY - MAREMMA PARK TREK

Day 1
Arrive at the host establishment and relax. In the evening meet with the guide and the other guests.  Enjoy chatting and getting to know one another.

Day 2
Entire day on horseback to verify horse & rider compatibility, with picnic and return to riding centre.

Day 3
From Cornacchino we ride towards the Fiora River where we'll stop for our picnic and a swim in the river. Afterwards, we'll continue riding along the river until we reach our campsite situated further along on the banks of the river..

Day 4
We leave the Fiora Valley and reach Saturnia, following the Stellata, which is the river of thermal waters with its source at the famous waterfalls. Picnic and the possibility of a swim in the thermal waters. Afterwards we follow the Stellata until it joins the Albegna River and follow it down to the camp.

Day 5
We follow the river into the Maremma hills, a ride which takes us through fords and rich vegetation in an area still relatively uninhabited. Leaving the river we ride through the hills of Scansano, and the vineyards famous for Morellino wine. In the evening we reach the campsite at a farm that breeds and trains Maremmana horses.

Day 6
At this point we ride through the characteristic Maremma area of Monti dell'Uccellina, entering the Maremma Park where we stop for our picnic. In the afternoon we'll take an excursion across the hills and enjoy the fantastic views from the hilltops where they slope steeply down to the sea. Finally we'll reach our campsite near the promontory of Talamone at the southern end of the Park.

Day 7
We leave our horses at the campsite and by minibus reach the "Butteri" (Tuscan cowboys) with their Marremani horses and typical saddles known as “scafarda”. They’ll take us for a typical working day’s ride through the park among cattle, horses, deer and boars (the half-day ride with the Butteri costs 50,00 euro to be paid on location). At the end of the ride we’ll enjoy a barbecue with the "Butteri" and a visit to the farm’s saddlery if we want to. In the afternoon, we head back to Cornacchino by mini-bus. In the evening we will enjoy our final dinner together during which every participant will receive a small souvenir and a map of our journey.
