The tour guide spoke excellent English - far better than I was expecting.
There was another tour rider with us who I thought should have been at the back to make sure everyone was alright, but quite a lot of the time they weren't.

The bridle and saddle were in fairly good condition - but I did have quite a lot of gaffa tape holding my saddle bag together. The horses coped with the terrain very well, some horses tolted better than others.

The description of the ride was very accurate - from the daily itineries to the riding ability required.

Most of the ride was over very rough terrain at walk or trot/tolt. The pace was directed by the guide who would just start tolting and the rest just followed. Some of the days we covered quite long distances. One day we did nearly 60k (due to a double booking of one of the cabins) which was on the day it rained. On some days we only rode 20-25k.

If I had any friends who liked riding. This was a great ride to cover large areas of Iceland, we rode from the north to the south. As the start and end points were in different places we felt like we achieved something when we arrived at the end point.

I had a great time, riding with the herd was great fun and completly different to what I had experienced before. There were nine other nationalities on this ride, but we all got along fine.
We had an excellent chef who did well catering for nearly 30 people, including vegetarians. The rest of the staff on the ride were really friendly and all spoke English to a very good standard.
We had four complete days of bright sunshine and blue skies and only one and a half days of rain and mist. This did give us time to wear the bright orange rain gear they provided.
