The trip other than in the warm summer months when camping, is not a trip in the pureet sense. Whilst the horses moved from stables to stables, we were bussed each evening to one of two hotels....The rides finish quite late (about 7.00pm) and longest drive after was a good 30mins. At the time, this came as a bit of a surprise although, on reflection, made no difference to our enjoyment of the holiday.

It can get cold in October! Freezing temperatures with frost on some mornings, but beautiful sunny days and warm afternoons.....weather was fantastic for us, we just got caught out one morning when it was particularly frosty (including the tour guides!)
The hotel in Mimizan was quite basic. In itself, this was not a problem for us; however, cleanliness was not of the highest order and some redecoration / repairs neccessary. Accommodation elsewhere very good. Again, food at the hotel in Mimizan not up to standard of elsewhere.

To get the most out of this holiday (and so as not to hinder others on the ride) you need to be a reasonably fit and confident rider. There is a lot of trotting and cantering, sometimes over challenging ground. The ride is great fun and scenery beautiful, especially the sunsets on the beach!

Fantastic trek on good horses with a good knowledgeable leader and staff. Michel looked after everyone very well and installed confidence and gave instruction when needed.
