Our guide was wonderful and we were able to communicate through a mixture of French and English. I am unable to judge her knowledge of local flora/fauna as we didn't really cover that topic in any depth. I would have appreciated a little more information on the local history and some of the sites we were seeing, but did feel that she was able to answer any questions we asked about local culture.

The horses were a pleasure to ride, very fit and willing to go but easy to handle. It was wonderful to see that they are very well cared for, too!

The trip description was quite accurate and everything lived up to or exceeded what I was expecting based on the description. It was an extra treat to travel through 3 different departments, each with its own scenery and character. You might consider working that angle into the description and perhaps adding a few words about the history of the region and some of the sites seen. I picked up some of this information from our evening hosts but would have appreciated knowing a little more in advance of the trip and/or as we rode along.

Bring a wash cloth, but no need to bring binoculars. If carrying more items than you will need for the actual ride (e.g., because extending the stay for additional days), pack a small collapsible duffel bag in which you can pack only the items needed for the ride itself and plan to store the larger bag at the place where you start and end the ride. We were very glad to have done this as there was no way the outfitter could have transported our larger bags each day.
It is a fabulous ride that I would recommend to any competent rider.

The long days in the saddle were demanding but just what we were looking for. There were plenty of long trots and canters, which might pose difficulty if riders are not fit, but the horses were so well behaved and the footing was generally very inviting so going at pace even for an extended period was not a big challenge. It was a nicely paced ride with enough to keep it interesting and make us feel like we had accomplished something, but it was not so challenging as to overwhelm us. There were a few places where we had to get down and lead the horses, but again this was not particularly difficult.

Danni was a pleasure to deal with from the first inquiry to the very end. Everything about the company, from the well organized brochure and website to the way all details and questions were dealt with, was professional and aimed to please the customer. I was very glad to have dealt with Unicorn Trails.

Can't wait to save up my pennies and my vacation time and do another ride with you. Thanks!
