Cyprus is one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean and boasts a varied landscape ideal for nature and sun-lovers. Due to the mild climate Cyprus is proud to be amongst the climatically healthiest regions the world. For these reasons it is the perfect destination for both riders and non-riders as not only does it offer stunning countryside to discover on horseback, but also plenty to keep non-riders occupied, including a rich history to explore. Cyprus' cultural inheritance includes stone age settlements, roman amphitheatres, Egyptian graves, byzantine churches and ancient monasteries; hire a car and take in the sites as well as the long, sun-kissed beaches. For experienced riders the winter time is ideal to explore the the spectacular mountains and sunlit olive groves. From October to April we offer the winter special programme with more riding. Ideal for those who want to do some riding on their holiday but have non riding partners or simply want to take it easy and explore other activities. From October to April we run a WINTER SPECIAL where there is an option for experienced riders to incoroporate 2 day rides into their stay.
Day 1
Arrive and be picked up from the airport by taxi and transferred to your accommodation. Check into your accommodation - one of the beautifully restored old houses furnished with local antiques. Relax by the swimming pool or explore the nearby beaches. There is no better way to settle into the Cypriot lifestyle than to sit down to a sumptuous meal, enjoying al fresco dining, at a taverna near your apartments. A car is necessary to travel between points on this horse riding holiday and your hire car will be dropped off at your accommodation tomorrow morning, ready for you to explore!
Day 2-7 Summer programme: Breakfast at a taverna near your apartment. The bulk of the day is yours to explore the island. Your friendly hosts are always ready to point out the local attractions, beaches or help you find a new activity. Lunch is taken at an establishment of your choice on the island and is not included in the price. Towards the cooler afternoon you drive to the stable and depart on a 2 hour ride. Each day you ride in a different direction, exploring olive groves, dry canyons and lush forests far away from the crowds. Back to your apartment for a quick swim and dinner.
