Ant’s Reserve (made up of Ants Hill and Ants Nest) is a private game reserve situated on the Triple B Reserve, home to the Baber family for generations. On this riding holiday you are the guests of Anthony and Tessa Baber with their team of wonderful staff, horses and Labradors.

Riding is usually 2 to 3 hours, twice a day depending on the tracking and heat (this can be varied to suit you). The horses are superb thoroughbred and boerperd crosses well adjusted to their environment. Rides to the neighbouring Game and Cattle Ranch for polocrosse etc can also be arranged.

Between 2 and 6 people can be accommodated in the beautifully restored old colonial homestead which consists of four double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms: 2 rooms have four poster, wooden double beds and 2 rooms have twin beds. All rooms are deluxe apart from 2 standard rooms at Ants Nest (1 double and 1 twin available). The house has a lovely sitting room with a large fire place and adjoining dining room. A large veranda surrounds the house creating a wonderful area for relaxation during the day. The traditional boma sets the scene for evenings around the fire. Relax by the plunge pool in the heat of the day. Meals are of an excellent standard a are enhanced by unique settings such as bush breakfasts and dinners.

The norm is an early light breakfast, followed by a mid morning brunch, afternoon tea and 3-4 course evening meal. Alternatively: continental breakfast, light lunch, afternoon tea and 3-4 course evening meal.

There are endless activities to enjoy and on this luxury safari every day is created as you want it. Guided walks amongst more than 250 species of bird, rhino tracking, game horse rides, game drives and night drives are offered on Ant’s Nest itself.

Anthony and Tessa are also able to take guests on a number of other exciting excursions in the Waterberg: game drives on other private reserves such as Entabeni, as well as day trips to two National Parks, boat cruises down the as yet untouched Mokolo River and Kudu Canyon, visits to the Rhino museum and orphan rhinos, ancient bushman paintings, or a tour of the huge Triple B Ranch encompassing the management of the 1000 strong Bonsmara cattle herd, maize and tobacco production and it’s farm community of 600 people with their own schools, crèche and church. Families are a speciality and the children get their own first class African holiday filled with excitement and as much riding as they want.

It is possible to book both Ant's Nest and Ant's Hill on an exclusive basis or an individual basis when available. Rates for exclusive bookings can offer substantial savings over individual rates depending on occupancy.

Single supplements are not compulsory if willing to share in the low season and for the 6 day package. In high and mid season a single supplement applies and must be paid if booking a room alone.
