Although the local guides were competent, they did not care to explain much unless asked. English language skills were ok but not overwhelming, French was good. Botanical knowledge seemed marginal.

The tack was the least complicated and most efficient I encountered in any of my trails.

Some sensibility and precaution is required to deal with the Berber (or Arab) stallions. Due to the sometimes difficult terrain the overall pace is moderate. Although the horses are very fit and surefooted, the riders too need some physical fitness and they should be free from giddiness.

A very pleasant ride on beautiful horses in a stunning landscape. The spring version, riding from the south to the north, seems somewhat more attractive than the ride in the opposite direction because the highlights are concentrated in the second week rather than in the first.
