There was a lot more walking & leading of horses than anticipated, with very few opportunities to go faster. The weather was a lot cooler & wetter than expected & we had difficulty getting some clothes dry. Inspite of this we really enjoyed the challenge especially with the company of the other ladies!

There was no information at the hotel in Marrakech telling us when our transfer would arrive next morning. We were unable to contact the rep. on the number given in our information. Fortunately one of the ladies joining us had a mobile phone that worked in Morocco so was able to contact England. Gemma was very quick to respond even though it was Sunday evening.We then received a very confused & confusing phone call via the hotel reception from a lady who did not speak a lot of English saying I hear you have a problem. By this time it had been sorted by Gemma but it wasn't easy to communicate this as my French is very limited.Apart from that everything ran very smoothly & our guides were delightful.It was a pity the weather wasn't as it should have been, but that is out of anyone's hands.

We needed more warm & waterproof clothes, waterproof leggings would have helped.We really did get very cold & wet especially one long afternoon.
Ask the guides to factor in more variety of pace, we walked for hours on end even on some softer tracks then when we reached the road we did a fast canter to finish the ride, which seemed a bit incongruous to us.

The terrain was quite difficult because of the steepness of the mountains, some of the paths were very narrow with sheer drops off the side, so it was not for the faint-hearted. Also the riders needed to be fit to lead their horses up & down the mountains for upto an hour at a time & to be confident in their footing as often we were on very rocky & stoney ground, (which is why we were leading the horses).
