I think that generally it was described as was however I did find the ranch to be more basic than I had thought and was quite surprised by the facilities. However, having said that, I did choose a working ranch to sample the true way of life and this is what we received. Possibly when being brought up in the UK with horses and they way in which they are looked after (possibly molly-coddled too much at times), it is quite a shock to see the different way of life and how horses, equipment etc are looked after. This is no bad thing, just an observation.

I felt that the branding week was possibly over-marketed especially when the hosts admit that they do not consider it to be one of their peak weeks due to the nature of what goes on.
Possibly separate groups into complete beginners and more advanced riders. The rides, whilst long and filling the whole day which was great, were very easy and there was not as much "action" as I thought there might have been. I felt that on the actual Cattle Drive itself, there were too many professionals drafted in to help and whilst I understand this is necessary, it rather detract from being involved in the drive. This day which was supposed to be the high-light of the trip, if anything, was bordering on being boring.

I under-estimated the extensive levels of rider which would be taken into the same group and felt that whilst there were 3 of us who were accomplished riders, 2 other through no fault of their own, might have held the group up slightly and rather limited our riding out.
