JOB OPPORTUNITIES WITH UNICORN TRAILS

Travel Advisor Posted 26/03/2012

We're looking for an aditional travel advisor to join our super team at Unicorn Trails. Ideally we're looking for someone who has been on a riding holiday and understands our clients' requirements but this is by no means essential. Below are some more details about what the job entails. If you are interested please call us on 01767600606.

What it's about
A typical day is spent in front of a computer answering emails and telephone calls from potential clients, finding out their requirements, answering queries, matching them to a suitable holiday, making all the travel and booking arrangements and dealing with any queries or issues that arise.

You will be communicating with clients and ride suppliers world wide by email and telephone, so clarity and promptness in communications, particularly email and telephone, across language barriers is important. Computer literacy is essential, both in general internet usage and familiarity with the common packages e.g. Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Specific training on reservations systems will be given.

As well as weekly product training on some of our 250+ different rides, we all get out and enjoy the riding holidays ourselves, this helps us give good advice to clients and is part of the job. There is the opportunity to experience riding holidays around the world in office time with travel paid for by Unicorn Trails and also in your own holiday time.

Remuneration for the travel advisor position is a salary is in the range of £15,000 - £18,000 (depending on experience and ability) plus travel. There are opportunities to increase responsibilities in the future and the remuneration scale would increase accordingly. Our normal working hours are 9 am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday with a half hour lunch break and Saturday 9am – 1pm at our offices in Biggleswade. Saturday mornings are done in rotation by one of the travel advisors and a half day is given the following week. The travel advisor who is in on Saturday also takes home our emergency phone. For a suitable candidate we would consider flexible hours. We are walking distance from the East Coast Mainline station and have plenty of free parking on site.

We also occasionally have a stand at exhibitions to meet our clients and promote the business. The travel advisors take turns in manning the stands. This entails occasional late nights and/or weekend work and possibly nights spent away from home.

The job requires someone who likes people and is by nature helpful, friendly, patient and kind. You should also be able to work under pressure to a high standard and be numerate, meticulous and accurate when arranging flights and travel itineraries. A liking for and ability to ride is essential, as is the willingness to travel and ability to build relationships with clients and suppliers. Any experience in the travel industry or personal travel will be an advantage. Preference will be given to a well rounded individual who is organised and calm under pressure.

You will be part of a small team so an ability to get on with your colleagues and work as a team is essential. We have a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in the office and have a lot of fun doing a job we love.
