Elephant or Chimpanzee Experience

ELEPHANT WHISPERS EXPERIENCE :– NON-RIDERS

You will be transferred to Elephant Whispers in Hazyview for an hour and a half of interaction with their tame African elephants.

The experience begins with a welcome drink & safety briefing, then interaction with each of the elephants. You will then begin your walk/ride through the bush – 6 people at a time (two per elephant, plus the “mahout”) are able to ride and the rest will walk alongside, experiencing life through the eyes of an elephant. You will then switch around and those riding will walk – through the bush and back to the stables, where the elephant are then settled in for the evening.

CHIMP VISIT – NON-RIDERS

The non-riders will be transferred down the escarpment to the Jane Goodall Chimpanzee sanctuary. An in-depth tour here gives insight into the problems facing this endangered species and the efforts to rescue orphaned and abandoned Chimpanzees. This Chimpanzee haven at Umhloti Lodge is the only Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Southern Africa.

Excursion includes lunch at the sanctuary.
