Jose Manuel spoke very litle English and I very little Spanish but his interpreter, Anna Maria was fantastic and worked extremely hard.

My horse was very underweight which they acknowledged. He had been living out and was obviously way down the pecking order when it came to food in the group. However, although he didn't look great, ie ribby, he appeared to have plenty of energy. At the end of the ride he was stabled so that he could eat sufficient to put on weight ready for the next tour in two weeks time.

We had very cold and wet weather for the first three days which affected some of the route. The rivers were so high that they were insurpassable without snorkel for horse and rider! so we had to cut short our tour through the Canyon on day 3 which was disappointing as it was really beautiful. The last three days were much better even up to 27 degrees on the Saturday when we left.

Improve the Weather! It is obviously quite early in the year - Jose Manuel owns a caravan site over the road and they never fill the swimming pool up with water until 1st June which I think says everything. We would have been better off in May I think.

We had only one canter morning and afternoon and no trotting (although we had been told that) but felt this was due to ground conditions - grassy areas were much too wet and slippery. If the weather was better it would probably have been faster!

We had a great time despite the weather. The accommodation varied quite a lot but we had a few laughs over a couple of the more "interesting" ones. There was only one other rider on the tour but we were joined by three livery owners for a couple of days which made things more fun.
