The Tatra Mountains have long been a famous skiing destination with unspoilt forests and mountains. Alpine scenery and lovely summer weather make for a fairytale ride, with accommodation in a beautifully renovated chalet, excellent Malopolskie horses, typical menus and multiple activities and outings to choose from for non riders.
NOTES - VILLA STAY
Accommodation
Villa accommodation is in a small village at 1000m altitude at the base of the Tatra mountains. The outside of the villa is of traditional wood built appearance, the inside has been fully renovated and laid out as a 1930's style mansion of the area with modern conveniences and design. The rooms are newly decorated with en suite shower/toilet and most rooms have large balconies with panoramic views over the Tatra mountains.
Horses and Riding
The nearby riding centre is located on a steep meadow and has 20 local Malapolskie horses. They are light boned and warmblooded, 15:2-16:2hh sensitive and responsive to ride. All the horses are very sure footed and well schooled. They are ridden in English saddle and snaffle bits. The terrain can be very steep in some directions, the horses are well used to this and extremely sure footed and strong. There are frequent opportunities to trot and canter over open meadows and countour tracks. The views when undertaking rides in all directions are extremely picturesque and you frequently ride under ski lifts which operate in the winter!
Other activities
The entire area is excellent for hiking with many well marked guided walks from your hotel to very old wooden orthodox churches and into the mountains. You are right next to the Tatrzanski National Park with its protected flora and fauna and well marked hiking trails. Mountains bikes are available for rental in the village and guidance on the best cycling trails in the area is available. There are options for excursions to Zakopane and to take the train up to the high view point and swimming pool. This can be done as a half or full day excursion. An excursion to Slovakia, a half hour drive across the border, with its thermal waters, or even a day at the spa. These excursions incur an extra cost payable locally. The weight limit for this ride is 15 st/209 lb/95 kg, please enquire if you are an experienced rider exceeding this weight.
WHAT IS INCLUDED
Return transfers from meeting point, all accommodation, meals, wine and beer with dinner, all riding, equipment and English guiding, additional activities as per itinerary.
WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED
Drinks other than beer or wine with dinner, bike renata, spa attendance, baby sitting or child minding services and any personal items.
